What is your professional background in swimming? Private instructor since May, 2011. Coached at SwimMAC Carolina from 2007-2016.
What are your professional specialties? Group and Individual Coaching, Video Analysis and Editing, Public Speaking, Stroke Technique, Skill Acquisition, and Strategic Race Planning.
What are your credentials? Certified coach with USA Swimming; Level 3 Coach member of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) as well as being a Certified Stroke Technician with ASCA; Advanced video taping and editing skills both above-water and underwater; Life-long competitive swimmer. United States Masters National Champion in the 500 Free (2008), 400 IM (2009, 2015, 2017), 100 Free (2015), 200 Back (2017), and 100 Fly (2017). Coached at SwimMAC Carolina from 2007-2016.
Where are you from? Born in Norwalk, CT, and grew up living in CT, VA, SC, and MI.
Did you swim competitively growing up? Yes, I began swimming summer league at age 6 at Sugarloaf Pool in Roanoke, VA. Began year-round competitive swimming in Mt. Pleasant, SC, in 1977, with CSA (Charleston Swim Association) and the Lowcountry Sea Devils. Scholarship swimmer at Furman University (1987-89).
Do you still swim competitively? Yes, I am an active member of United States Masters Swimming (USMS).
